Enn Vetemaa

Enn Vetemaa ( born June 20, 1936 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian writer, screenwriter and composer.

Life

Enn Vetemaa was born the son of an architect. He completed his studies in chemical engineering in 1959 from the Tallinn Polytechnic Institute (Estonian Tallinna Polütehniline Instituut ). But he soon renounced the work in chemical engineering and turned to music and writing to.

Until 1965 Vetemaa studied the subject composition at the State Conservatory in Tallinn ( Tallinna Riiklik Konservatoorium ). From 1965 to 1969 Vetemaa was editor in chief of the Estonian television for literature and art shows. From 1969 to 1976 Vetemaa worked at the Writers' Union of the Estonian SSR as a consultant for poetry. From 1987 to 1989 he was Vice President and 1989-1994 President of the Estonian publishing Kupar.

Breakfast began Vetemaa to become self a writer. Since 1958, he published poetry, drama and prose. Some of his works met with great criticism among the Soviet censors and could only appear late. Vetemaa writes with great intellectual claim. His lyrics are often humorous and rich in contrast. In addition, he has also worked as script writer and essayist.
