Ennio Guarnieri

Ennio Guarnieri (born 12 October 1930 in Rome ) is an Italian cameraman.

Life

Guarnieri is one of the busiest cinematographers Italy and is counted among the leading representatives of his profession in Europe. He began in 1951 as an assistant cameraman and operated since 1961 as an independent director of photography cameras. In his work he showed a diversity that led to very different films: the formalist Il mare (1962, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi ), black-and- white as colored twisted comedic episode films, the designed with enthralling atmosphere Sette uomini d' oro (1965, Marco Vicario ) or the filmed in nostalgic and decadent images Il giardino dei Finzi Contini (1970, Vittorio De Sica ). He also worked with big names of the Italian film as Franco Zeffirelli (1983 with La Traviata and Othello in 1986 ) and Federico Fellini together ( 1986 Ginger and Fred ).
