Enniscrone

Enniscrone, also Inniscrone and officially Inishcrone (Irish Inis Crabhann ) is a town in the far west of County Sligo in Ireland.

In 2006 Enniscrone counted 829 inhabitants. The long sandy beach is bordered by dunes towards the hinterland, which are fenced for the protection of humans. The temperature of the sea, the cleanliness of the water and the beaches, the limited access for motor vehicles and monitoring by lifesaver in the summer, have led to the beach of the municipality was awarded the Blue Flag.

Other tourist attractions include Stone Age archaeological sites and a golf course. In the Cliff Road a bath house for the traditional Irish seaweed baths was established in the 18th century by the then lord. This bath house was modernized in 1912 and inspires the user through the old institution and the quality of Seaweed Baths. The Enniscrone beach is frequented heavily on the inhabitants of the neighboring town of Ballina.
