Enno Poppe

Enno Poppe ( born December 30, 1969 in Hemer / Sauerland ) is a German composer and conductor. He is one of the most important representatives of younger contemporary music. Since 2008, Enno Poppe member of the Academy of Arts and since 2009 a member of the North Rhine- Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Life

He studied composition and conducting at the University of Arts Berlin, including Friedrich Goldmann and Gösta Neuwirth. He continued his studies at the Center for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe. Since 1998 he has led the to the interpretation of contemporary music ensemble specializing mosaic in Berlin. From 2002 to 2004 he was a lecturer at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. He has received commissions from, among others, the Young German Philharmonic, the Ensemble Modern, the sound Wien, the Ensemble musikFabrik, by WDR, SWR for the Donaueschingen Music Days and the Schwetzingen Festival and the SWR BR. His father, Rudolf Poppe, was music and mathematics teacher at the Friedrich- Leopold- Woeste High School in Hemer. Enno Poppe already composed as a teenager and won multiple competition " youth composes ".
