Enric Marco

Enric Marco ( born 1921 in Barcelona) was since 2001 President of the Spanish concentration camp survivor organization Amical de Mauthausen y otros campos de concentración, but was forced to resign in May 2005, when it was announced by a research report by Spanish historian Benito Bermejo that essential data of his biography which concerned his alleged detention in concentration camps Mauthausen and Flossenbiirg, were fake.

In his 1978 autobiography Memorias del Infierno ( "Memories of Hell " ) and on numerous public lectures Enric Marco had given detailed descriptions of camp life, and there endured atrocities. But as he admitted after the announcement of the research report, and this was his claim to have joined the Resistance, fictitious. Also he was not, as claimed, in 1943 fell into the hands of the Gestapo, but has in 1941, when Franco skilled workers sent to Hitler's request, in the German war industry, reported as a volunteer, so I can work until 1943 in the Kiel German works yard.

Enric Marco was at times a member and even ( as he named Enrique Marcos ) Secretary General of anarchosyndikalischen union CNT.

The discovery of the fraud by Enric Marco is, among other fraud cases have become known as that of Binyamin Wilkomirski or Antonio Pastor, seen by some deniers of the Holocaust as a proof that the whole Holocaust was invented.
