Enrique Bunbury

Enrique Ortiz de Landázuri Izarduy ( born August 11, 1967 in Zaragoza ) is a Spanish composer and singer. His stage name Bunbury refers to the main character of Oscar Wilde 's play The Importance of Being Earnest.

Career

Bunbury's career began in 1987 as the frontman and singer for the Spanish rock band Héroes del Silencio. After the dissolution of the band in 1996 Bunbury began a successful solo career in Spain and Latin America. His musical range includes ballads about Spanish folk-rock songs with a Latin flair, rock, to cabaret. He uses a variety of different instruments in his songs, he plays guitar, piano, harmonica and sitar. In German-speaking Enrique Bunbury is as a solo artist so far largely unknown, his only concerts in Germany took place in May / June 1998. In October 2007, gave Bunbury along with the original cast of Héroes del Silencio several concerts in Spain and Latin America.
