The ensemble intercontemporain is a French Paris-based, staffed with international repute for soloists instrumental ensemble for contemporary music.

History

The ensemble intercontemporain was founded in 1976 by Pierre Boulez and has since become one of the world's direction -giving contemporary music ensembles. Under the aegis of Pierre Boulez conducted well-known specialist in modern music conductor the ensemble. In about 70 concerts worldwide each season, the ensemble provides outstanding artistic interpretations of exemplary works of our era. Especially the highly artificial virtuoso music composers use the ensemble again for cooperation and especially to exemplary world premieres. The stylistic diversity of the ensemble is documented by a rich catalog of recordings. The ensemble currently has 31 members.
