Enslaved (band)

Enslaved (English: ' enslaved ') is a Viking-/Progressive-Metal-Band founded in 1991 from Norway.

History

In the beginning, the musicians were extremely fixed on her band and " hardly spent time with other people ." The first demo Nema of 1991 was not satisfactory for the members, so they recorded new songs for their second demo Yggdrasill. This sent them to Mayhem co-founder Euronymous, the owner of the record label Death Like Silence Productions was them and then offered a contract. Enslaved was then a contract from the French label Osmose Productions, which many well-known black metal bands at that time had under contract. With the successor album Eld (1997) led Enslaved then for the first time elements of progressive rock into their music one, which brought some criticism purist black metal pendant. The follow-up album Mardraum was a step in the other direction again, exceeding the experimental in character all previous releases of the band. The band changed in 2003 to the label Tabu Recordings, as the motivation for the cooperation of osmosis and Enslaved subsided after the impression of the band on both sides and the communication would be facilitated according Bjørnson fact that the new label come from their home country, and took a year it on the album, again with Isa new musicians. Followed in 2008 with Vertebrae the tenth studio album by the band. It reached number 20 in the Norwegian album charts and was voted by the critics of the music magazine Terrorizer album of the year.

On 27 September 2010 Axioma Ethica appeared with Odini the eleventh studio album by the band, which made it to number 11 in the Norwegian charts and another Spellemanpris earned. The songs of the album were consistently marked by riffs and due to the length of some songs significant tension structures were visible. 2011 appeared the EP The Sleeping Gods, are the songs on the band's website freely available for download.

In 2012, Enslaved signed a worldwide deal with the label Nuclear Blast. It was finally published on 28 September 2012, the album RIITIIR, which again earned a nomination for the Spellemannpris the band.
