Entergy Corp.. is an energy provider in the United States with headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana. The company is listed on the stock index S & P 500.

Entergy claims to have several power plants with approximately 30,000 megawatts of capacity and is in the U.S. with approximately 10,000 megawatts, the second largest nuclear power producer of all electricity suppliers.

The company was founded in the early 20th century by Harvey C. Couch. From 1949 to 1989, the company Entergy was known under the name of Middle South Utilities, Inc.

The company was hit hard by the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
