Entrapment (Original Title: Entrapment ) is an American feature film of the genre thriller from 1999 was directed by Jon Amiel, the screenplay by Ronald Bass, William Broyles and Michael Hertzberg. . The film starred Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta -Jones.

Action

The master thief Robert MacDougal learns the master thief Virginia Baker know. Baker works for an insurance company; she was asked to pose as a thief and shall be placed MacDougal a trap. Together they steal an ancient mask. Later, they are preparing a big theft in the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur at midnight of the new millennium. The alarm is triggered thereby, Baker can flee, MacDougal remains.

A day later, MacDougal and Baker hit a U-Bahn stop. MacDougal warns his partner that she is about to be arrested; the police authorities were able to debunk some time ago MacDougal and forced him to find and extradite Baker. He has, however, now in love with her and helps her by a deception to escape. Shortly thereafter, the police left the station, Baker comes back and meets the waiting MacDougal. Together they decide to go through with another mission.

Reviews

The film received mixed reviews. In the magazine Der Spiegel 21/1999 he was described as a solid thriller with no surprises in the TV movie 11/1999 as ravishing.

Awards

Connery and Zeta -Jones won the European Film Award. Catherine Zeta -Jones also won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award, Sean Connery and Ving Rhames were nominated for the same price. Christopher Young won the BMI film music award.

Zeta -Jones and Connery were nominated in two categories for the Golden Raspberry.
