Enzo Barboni

Enzo Barboni (* July 10, 1922 in Rome, † March 23, 2002 ) was an Italian cinematographer and film director. He was known primarily for his comedies and westerns parodies with Terence Hill and Bud Spencer.

Biography

After Barboni had served in World War II from 1942 onwards, as rapporteur for the Istituto Luce del at the German - Russian front, he turned to the camera work and assisted his brother Leonida. As a camera assistant he had often worked for Vaclav Vich and director Sergio Corbucci already for its sandals movie times. In 1961 he was director of photography and photographed in this capacity, among others the 1966 spaghetti western Django Corbucci.

From 1970 started Barboni under the pseudonym EB Clucher his career as a director. After " serious " start he was in the subsequent period as the inventor of humorous spanking Western. In 1967 he turned to the singer Rita Pavone and from Karl May film about exchanged for spaghetti westerns Terence Hill the music Western Blue beans for a Hallelujah ( Rita nel West). Then Clucher wrote the screenplays and directed the hit movies with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. Even away from the spaghetti westerns he concentrated on comedies.

His later attempt to repeat the success of Spencer / Hill movies without the main character, failed in 1994.
