Epic Soundtracks

Epic Soundtracks ( born March 23, 1959 in Croydon, Surrey; † 5 November 1997 London), born Kevin Paul Godfrey, was a British musician and artist.

Life

The composer and multi-instrumentalist grew up with his brother Nikki Sudden up in Solihull, Midlands. In 1972, the siblings founding members of the post-punk band Swell Maps. Epic played drums and many other instruments. For the first album of the group (1979 ) He contributed the cover artwork.

After a stopover at Red Krayola he made, again with his brother, the core of the band The Jacobites with whom he recorded several plates., In 1985, was the drummer of Crime and the City Solution, with whom he played until 1989.

In 1987 he founded with Rowland S. Howard thesis Immortal Souls and finally launched a solo career in 1993 with several solo albums for Normal Records, which was ended by his sudden death. On tour, he played with guitarist Kevin Junior and various musicians from Chicago.

Epic Soundtracks died in his sleep on 5 November 1997 at his home in West Hampstead, London unexplained cause of death. His funeral was held at the Leamington Spa Baptist Church on December 1, 1997.

After Epic's death released his brother Nikki Sudden in cooperation with Russ Tolman two more albums, where Epic had worked.

Epic Soundtracks worked on various projects with various musicians, such as with members of Sonic Youth, J Mascis, Martyn Casey, Anthony Thistlethwaite, Will Pepper, Rowland S. Howard, Susanne Lewis, Bob Drake and Henry Olsen (Primal Scream ).

His music is also on various compilation albums and film soundtracks, including Wim Wenders' film Wings of Desire, in which an appearance of Crime and the City Solution is shown.
