Epideictic

Epideixis or epideictic speech (Greek ἐπιδεικτικὸν γένος, " aufzeigende / ostensive genus " ) is called a particular speech genre in the scheme of Aristotle. In his Rhetoric, Aristotle leads the three speech genres of a communication model here: the speech belong to the speaker, the subject of the speech and the audience.

The epideictic speech aims according to Aristotle, the " -enjoying " audience and praises or blames the speech subject. Your main consideration is honesty or dishonesty.

Examples of epideictic speeches are speeches ( Enkomien ), grave speeches ( epitaphs ) and wedding speeches ( Epithalamien ).
