Epilator

An epilator (also called epilator ) is an electrical device for the mechanical removal of hair. While the appearance is similar to a shaver, it is fundamentally different in its functional structure. The hair is in this case not cut off at the surface, but pulled out together with the roots by means of rotating rollers.

Principle and implementation

The advantage lies in the, in contrast to shave completely smooth skin surface as well as the long-lasting hairlessness. The epilated skin regions are free of hair usually for several weeks. The duration of the application also allows the hair growth and after the hair becomes finer. The use of an epilator is similar to Brazilian waxing in the result, but much cheaper.

Many users epilation is perceived as unpleasant or painful, especially in the armpit and groin area. Another problem may exist in ingrowing hairs. This can be counteracted by regular massage with a loofah sponge or by regular exfoliation.
