Eppendorf AG is a company with headquarters in Hamburg, provides products and services for laboratories developing, manufacturing and selling. History
The company was founded in 1945 by Heinrich Netheler and Hans Hinz in Hamburg's Eppendorf district on the grounds of University Hospital as a workshop for medical devices. Netheler and Hinz took knowledge from radar technology to the development of the first ultrasound machine and the stimulator, a device for diagnosis and treatment of muscle and nerve damage. The electric thermometer "Thermo Rapid " enabled the measurement of the body temperature within a few seconds the first time. Investments
In 2007, Eppendorf took over the American company New Brunswick Scientific Co, which had its headquarters in Edison, New Jersey. Beginning of January 2012 acquired Eppendorf medium-sized manufacturer of parallel bioreactor systems DASGIP from Jülich.
