Epstein Brothers Orchestra

The Epstein Brothers Orchestra The (often just called Epstein Brothers) was a Jewish musician quartet from the U.S., which played mainly Klezmer music.

It consisted of the four in New York City -born brothers Max Epstein (4 October 1912-18. March 2000), William " Willie" Epstein (3 March 1919-2. July 1999), Julius "Julie" Epstein ( born 1926 ) and Isidore "chi" Epstein (December 28, 1913 November 1986).

In 1992 they gave their first concert in Berlin on European soil in the exhibition " Jewish Life", in November 1996 they gave again a concert in Berlin as part of the Festival of Jewish Culture.

1996 played Max, William and Julius Epstein in the documentary A Tickle in the Heart with where the story of the four brothers is told. Chi died in 1986.

In 1998, the Epstein Brothers were honored by the National Endowment for the Arts with the NEA National Heritage Awards.

After William died on 2 July 1999 and Max in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 28 March 2000, Julius Epstein is the last surviving member of the band. He lives with his wife Esther also in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
