Eqrem Basha went early 1970s to Pristina in Kosovo and studied at the University of Albanian language and literature. Until 1990 he worked for the television of the city, but was then dismissed because of political turmoil. Today Basha working for the publisher Dukagjini, which he co-founded in 1994. He also works as a translator.
Basha is primarily a poet, but also wrote short stories, novels and screenplays. His poems are difficult to classify, often surreal, emerged from an urban lifestyle out. He is considered one of the greatest modern authors of Kosovo.
Translations have appeared in prestigious French publishing houses, however, are hardly in the German translations before.
