The Eqerem - Çabej University is a state university in the Albanian city of Gjirokastra. It was founded in 1968 as the external trade school of the University of Tirana. In 1969 an agricultural college and an educational institute. In 1991, the institution was raised independently and the university. In the faculty of science in mathematics, computer science, physics, biology and chemistry are taught and offered a course in midwifery. The Faculty of Education and Language Studies, the study subjects of history, geography, economics and various languages ​​as well as educational training. A Department of Greek language, literature and culture is particularly aimed at the Greek minority.

It is named after the university Eqrem Çabej (* August 7, 1908; † 13 August 1980), one originating from the city of linguists.

The University is a member of the network of Balkan universities.
