Equestrian at the 1920 Summer Olympics

In the VII Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 seven competitions are held in the riding. Trick Riding 1920 belonged once to the competition program.

Versatility

Unlike so than in Stockholm the eventing was no longer reserved for officers. From an examination of soldiers horses so that was a heavy usage test for hunting horses. It was attended by 25 participants from eight nations.

The Eventing was aligned without dressage test. The three-part test took place over five days and consisted of:

  • Endurance ride about 50 km, consisting of 45 km on roads and trails, 5 km cross-country with 18 natural, firm jumps to 1.15 meters in height. This route was to deal in three and a half hours.
  • After a rest day followed a road gallop over 20 km, which was joined by 4,000 meters racecourse gallop. The latter had to cope with a speed of 550 m / min.
  • After the next day off the hunting competition followed with obstacles up to 1.25 m height.
