Erawan District

Amphoe Erawan ( Thai: อำเภอ เอราวัณ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Loei. The Loei Province is located in the western part of the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from south clockwise): Amphoe Pha Khao, the Wang Saphung, Mueang Loei and Na Duang province of Loei and Amphoe Na Wang and Si Bun Rueang province of Nongbua Lamphu.

The Lamnam Suai ( Thai: ลำน้ำ สวย - Suai waterway ) is an important river in the district.

History

Erawan was on 1 April 1995 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established as the area of ​​today's circuit from Amphoe Wang Saphung was separated.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

The county was named after the Erawan Cave, which is now in neighboring Amphoe Na Wang close to the county boundary.

Symbols

The motto of the county is about Erawan, big elephant, home of the sweet longan, tradition of 100,000 rockets, land of silk production ( Thai: เอราวัณ ช้างใหญ่ ถิ่น ลำไย ขาม หวาน ตำนาน บั้งไฟ แสน ดิน แดน ผ้า ไหม งาม ).

Management

Amphoe Erawan is divided into four subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 45 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

In Amphoe Erawan there are two small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Erawan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เอราวัณ ) consists of the whole tambon Erawan,
  • Pha In Plaeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผา อินทร์ แปลง ) consists of the whole Tambon Pha In Plaeng.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
