Erdenet Mining Corporation
The Erdenet Mining Corporation (Mongolian Эрдэнэт үйлдвэр ) is a mining company in the Mongolian Erdenet.
History
The Russian- Mongolian joint venture was established in 1975. Geological field studies began in the late 1950s.
From the early 1960s began a national geological organization, actively cooperate with the geological institutions of the European socialist countries. A first joint Czech -Mongolian geological expedition was undertaken in Mongolia in 1962. Today ( 2012), the company operates the fourth largest copper mine in the world. The mining contributes the lion's share for Mongolian exports and tax revenues. For a long time was only exported copper concentrate, since 2005, the system is also able to produce pure copper.
Exploration and production
In addition, the company promotes and produces molybdenum construction machinery and materials handling.
