Erding Ring Closure

The Erdinger ring closure is a planned, 30.2 km long, partly to be newly built double-track railway line, the Freising is to connect through the Airport Munich Erding.

Course

The route of Erding circular ( Strecken-Nr. 5559 ) runs from the Freising train station as four-track rail line along the train line between Munich and Regensburg ( Strecken-Nr. 5500) up to the junction Neufahrn -Nord. About the Neufahrner counter- curve, the range of S 1 of Neufahrn ( b. Freising ) ( Strecken-Nr. 5557 ) is reached at the junction Neufahrn - East and at the branch Airport West S- Bahn line S 8 from Munich Ost ( routes -No. 5556 ) to cross. Subsequently, the existing double track line is shared among the airport. The route from Freising to Munich Airport is then about 16 km long.

Under the eastern apron of Munich Airport, the route continues in a tunnel until she comes close Schwaigerloh to light, and then above ground to lead to Erding. In the area Schweigerloh to create a turning system so that incoming trains to reverse at the airport from Regensburg / Landshut to stop.

In less than 14 km distance is on the site of the military Horst Erding, below the Anton Bruckner Street, a new station may occur which could accommodate and connect both S -Bahn trains from Munich and regional trains from the east ( Walpertskirchen ). The former train station in the Erdinger city center, is 700 meters away, is then closed.

In Munich, the trains would run on the existing rail line Markt Schwaben - Erding. According to recent plans ( April 2013 ), the area between the new and the old train station in trough position is to be built, so that at the Dorfener road no level crossing is needed. However, the plans for the south area adjacent to see through to the S-Bahn station Altenerding no lowering. Such obläge - especially in terms of financing - the town of Erding. The site of the existing station will be used as building sites for housing and as a green area.

Planning

Zoning sections

After tendering the end of January 2007, a project management office with the preparation of tender planning was commissioned. The plan approval is in three sections ( Freising Airport, Airport Erding, Erding, Munich ) are performed. This 33 km new railway lines will be built and expanded approximately 42 km of existing railway lines. 1.4 km railway tunnel are necessary for improving the rail link to the airport. 85 bridges have to be built or adapted. 15 stations can be adjusted and the realization of three new S -Bahn stations is examined within the preliminary design.

Neufahrner counter cam

To improve the links with the airport from North and East Bavaria Neufahrner the counter curve is first built. This enables direct control of trains and S-Bahn from Landshut and Moosburg Freising to Munich Airport; in conjunction with the Erding circular trains should disappear over Villages up to Mühldorf and Salzburg. The zoning approval in November 2012 and the start of construction is to take place in the second half of 2013. A four-track expansion of the existing railway line is initially not provided, while an additional S- Bahn station is discussed in Mintraching yet.

In the CSU party conference in 2011 it was decided to pursue the so-called " Zeitler curve" instead of Neufahrner counter curve. In this the route branches off behind Freising and is threaded from the east side to the airport train station. This variant was not included and given the original version in the planning approval process.

The zoning approval for the Neufahrner curve was made on 31 October 2012. Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Bahn Ruediger Grube and the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, then signed on 12 April 2013, implementation and funding agreement for the Neufahrner curve. The route will be 2.3 km long and continuous double track and electrified. It is executed in high position, threaded from the two routes from each height freely, crossing the A92

The construction costs are specified with 83 million euros. These will be split equally by the federal government and the Free State. Within 20 years after he commissioning of the track, the German railway will refund a total of ten million euros of access charges additional revenue to the Free State. On December 14, 2012 lawsuit against the zoning decision was filed. Should this action be dismissed, to 2014 started the construction of expected. This should be completed in 2018.

Section airport Erding

Since late 2009, several variants for a route in the city of Erding be publicly discussed. In May 2012, the City Council decided Erdinger coming for the so-called Nordeinschleifung the Regionalzugtrasse from Walpertskirchen. As announced in February 2013 from railway circles, is the so-called Stage II, ie, the portion Airport Erding, to be built by 2019. This would require that the withdrawal of the Bundeswehr from the Aerodrome site, which has not yet been precisely terminated to date (February 2013), is timely, since a stretch of ring closure and the new station is planned on the Bundeswehr area.

In April 2013 it was announced that in the summer / fall of 2013 the plan approval process should be initiated for the section Erding Airport. With a positive development that would allow construction to begin before the end of 2016. The construction period is specified by four years so that the Erdinger ring closure could be completed in 2020. Currently it is assumed that a beginning of the planning approval process in the spring of 2014. This may - provided an easy course - no construction activity begin before 2018.

Planned trip offer

After completing all measures of Erdinger ring closure following rail service is provided:

  • 20 pairs of trains daily: About Regional Airport Express ( ÜFEX, hourly ) from Salzburg to Regensburg with stops at Mühldorf, Villages, Erding, Airport, Freising, Moosburg and Landshut
  • 20 pairs of trains daily: Airport Express ( FEX, every hour ) of Mühldorf to Landshut about the airport and Freising with more intermediate stops
  • S -Bahn from the airport to Erding Freising ( every 15 minutes in rush hour, or 30 -minute intervals )

Walpertskirchner clasp

The Walpertskirchner clasp is a 9.5 km long, single-track, electrified railway, which will connect with the railway track Erding Munich - Mühldorf. On their regional trains from Landshut to run through the airport to Mühldorf. Similarly, in a further extension of the line Mühldorf -Salzburg and international long-distance transport from Munich to Salzburg could be settled about it.

As part of the planning for the Erdinger ring closure was announced in April 2013 that is provided instead of the originally planned crossing station on the grounds of Erdinger flyer Horst, a private station for both regional and S -Bahn trains on the same site. The two stations are to be connected directly to each other. During the ring closure is to take place by 2020, there is still no concrete date for the construction of Walpertskirchner clasp.
