Erdmann II of Promnitz
Erdmann II Count von Promnitz ( born August 22, 1683 Sorau, † September 7, 1745 in Forest Castle at Sorau ) was Standesherr on Sorau and Triebel, in Lower Lusatia and to Pless.
He stood as a privy councilor and cabinet minister in the service of Augustus the Strong and his son Frederick Augustus II, Elector of Saxony and kings of Poland. 1703 joined Erdmann II of his father Balthasar Erdmann heritage and managed his vast possessions on their own.
Erdmann von Promnitz took Georg Philipp Telemann and Wolfgang Caspar Printz as Kapellmeister at the court to Sorau.
Family
In 1705 he married Anna Maria of Saxe- Weissenfels, the daughter of Duke Johann Adolf I of Saxe- Weissenfels. The couple had the following children:
