Eretrian school
Elish - Eretrian school (sometimes Elean school or Eretrian school) is the name given to a flow within the ancient philosophy during the 4th and 3rd centuries BC
Even in ancient times spoke of a historian of philosophy beginning with the Phaedo of Elis Elis or with a Menedemus beginning of Eretria eretreischen school. In modern philosophy stories these schools are commonly referred to as Elish - Eretrian school. In addition to Phaidon and Menedemus will be succeeded by Moschos and some other little-known people mentioned, namely Anchipylos, Pleistanos, Asclepiades of Phlius, Ktesibios of Chalcis and Pasiphon. Common philosophical beliefs are not known in any case - not even what Phaidon and Menedemus concerns. It is possible that in the summary of these thinkers to a subsequent history of philosophy construction.
Reception
Already Cicero ( 106 BC *, † 43 BC ) is one of the Eretriker (as well as the Megarians, the Herilleer and Pyrrhonians ) to the long- forgotten philosopher.
