Ergosphere

Ergosphere referred to in the drawing on gray marked area around a rotating black hole. In this area, it is an object not possible not to rotate. Cause of this phenomenon is the fact that a rotating black hole spacetime geometry " sweeps ", so that everything that is inside the ergosphere, rotation of the black hole is imposed.

The entrainment of the space-time geometry can be metaphorically thought of as the deformation of a spider web. If the object that bends the space-time, not moving, the spider web is wheel-shaped and the individual "spokes" of the wheel to run straight towards the object. But if the object is rotated, " verzwirbelt " it the spider's web in its center, that is, which are "spokes" toward the center bent and there is an image that resembles a whirlpool. Due to this deformation of an object, even if it would be moving at the speed of light, no longer avoid the rotation of the ergosphere.

The spatial character of the ergosphere is an oblate spheroid. The fall of a particle in the ergosphere describes the Penrose process.
