Eric Blum

Eric Ray Blum (born 13 June 1986) is a Japanese -Swiss ice hockey defender, who is since 2010 at the Kloten Flyers in the National League A under contract.

Career

Eric Blum is the son of a Swiss father and a Japanese woman. He began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the GCK Lions, for their first team, he was active in the National League B 2003-2006. Then the defender moved to the SCL Tigers of the NLA. Coached by Christian Weber he developed in the Emmental to the national team and was in his last season with eight goals and 13 assists his most productive season. From sporting reasons, the links Sagittarius the Kloten Flyers joined the 2010/11 season. With his new club, he immediately reached the play-off final, in which he, however, the HC Davos defeated with Kloten.

Blum is one of the best young defenders, is driven workflows quickly and also turns in offensive actions into the game.

Internationally

For Switzerland Blum took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2004 Division 1 and thereby rose with his team in the top division. In addition, he participated in the 2006 U20 World Junior Championship, where Blum scored two goals in six games and three more besides. At the World Championships in 2013 in Stockholm and Helsinki, he was the first part of the Men's National Team and won the silver medal with this.
