Training

Boe left 1983, the Henderson High School and began his studies at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This gave him in 1987 a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering. In 1997, he earned a degree as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Astronauts activity

He was selected by NASA as an astronaut in July 2000 and arrived in August 2000 to the Johnson Space Center. In the following two years of training and education, he achieved the qualifications for controlling spacecraft and station work.

STS -126

On 15 November 2008, Boe began as a pilot of the space shuttle Endeavour on his first space flight.

STS -133

On September 18, 2009 Boe was nominated as a pilot for the mission STS -133 to the ISS. The launch took place on 24 February 2011, landing on 9 March. Boe was that the last pilot of the space shuttle Discovery.
