Eric Brandon

Eric Brandon was a childhood friend of the Cooper - founder John Cooper. Little surprise, Brandon drove his first race with the small and a few 500 cc Formula 3 Cooper. 1951 was one of the best Brandon drivers this class in the UK. In 1951 he won the British Formula 3 Championship in first place.

When Alan Brown in 1952 began his Ecurie Richmond building to attend the World Cup in 1952, he brought Brandon in his team. The World Cup was driven by the regulations of the formula 2 and the Ecurie Richmond sat Cooper racing cars with Bristol engines. His debut in the World Championship was Brandon in 1952 at the Grand Prix of Switzerland. The eighth place in this race was the best finish he reached the World Championship in five starts. In 1953, he finished fourth at the Grand Prix of Syracuse, then he moved to the sports car and was in national races until the end of the 1950s at the start.
