Eric Iljans

Eric Iljans ( born November 17, 1969 in Nora; actually Karl Erik Gunnar Iljans ) is a former Swedish freestyle skiers. He was dedicated to the discipline of ski cross. His wife Magdalena Iljans operating the same sport.

Biography

Iljans debuted on November 30, 2002 at Freestyle World Cup and drove in Tignes on the 44th. At the next race in Laax, he was twelfth and thus won the first World Cup points. His best finish in the first season was a 6th place in Les Contamines. In the following four years he was in the World Cup never finished in the top ten, but won at the Winter X Games 2005 gold medal in the discipline Ultra Cross.

On February 2, 2007 Iljans scored its first podium when he drove in Les Contamines to third place. The second (and final) podium of his career he achieved on 14 January 2009 in Flaine. In his final season in 2009/10 was a 11th place Iljans ' best result, but this was enough to qualify for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games; in the Olympic race at Cypress Mountain, he was ranked 16 Two weeks later, he ended his sports career.
