Eric Neal

Eric Neal ( born June 3, 1924 in London) is an Australian businessman and former Governor of South Australia.

Life

After studying engineering at the South Australian School of Mines ( now part of the University of South Australia ), he became a successful businessman. In 1963 he started at Boral, an Australian manufacturer of building materials, and was its chairman from 1973-87. After that, he was employed in a managerial position, among other Fairfax Media and BHP Billiton.

From 1996 to 2001 he was Governor of the State of South Australia. After his tenure, he was from 2002-10 Chancellor of Flinders University.
