Erich Bautz

Erich Bautz ( born May 26, 1913 in Dortmund, † September 17, 1986 ) was a German racing cyclist.

Throughout his career, which lasted from 1934 with the interruption of World War II until 1952, he won a total of 27 victories.

His most successful year it was undoubtedly 1937, when he decided not only the resin - tour for himself, but also as a second German by Kurt Stöpel the yellow jersey in the Tour de France wore. He won two stages and finished ninth in the overall standings.

In 1947 he won the Green Belt from the Rhine. The tour was a predecessor of today's Germany tour. He was also in 1937, 1941 and 1950 German road champion and 1942 and 1950 German champion stayer.
