Erich-Fromm-Preis
The Erich Fromm Prize is awarded annually by the International Erich Fromm Society since 1995. It is intended for individuals excellent, " they have done with their academic, social, socio-political or journalistic commitment Outstanding for the preservation or recovery of humanistic thought and action within the meaning of Erich Fromm and afford ." The award, which was called to 2004 International Erich Fromm price, is endowed with 10,000 euros ( since 2006).
Background
The selection of winners is made by majority decision of a five-member jury, which is appointed by the extended board of the International Erich Fromm Society. The jury is free in its choice, but it has to include applications and recommendations for the Erich Fromm Prize in their decision making. Applications and recommendations must be received by April 1, the office of the International Erich Fromm Society eV, respectively.
With the awards ceremony not only a humanistic commitment within the meaning of Erich Fromm to be appreciated. They also help the public to make the legacy of Erich Fromm's known and to keep in memory serves. You should therefore take place as a rule in public.
