Remains of the castle Erich Berg

The castle Erich mountain, now called Erichsburg, is a small remnant of a medieval castle on the historic Beck Road at Ramberg ( resin ) in the vicinity of the place Friedrich Brunn ( Thale ) in Harz.

History

Count Henry of Stolberg bought in 1320 by Heineke of Hoym and Bertholdus II of Arnswald called Geylvus (today horny feet / Geilfuß ), which in the 12th century, first documented fortified house for Erich Berg and their accessories, probably built to protect a trade route. To save the new goods, he wore it on together with the acquired about the same castle Wolfsberg in 1325 the Bishop of Halberstadt fief.

From the former castle some small remains of walls and small parts of the former ramparts and moat can still be seen.
