Erick Wujcik

Erick Wujcik ( born January 26, 1951June 7, 2008 in San Rafael, California ) was an American developer of role-playing and co-founder of Palladium Books.

Life

Wujcik began his "career" as head of the Gaming Society at Wayne State University. From 1979 to 1981 he wrote a weekly computer column for The Detroit News. In 1981 he founded together with Kevin Siembieda the RPG publisher Palladium Books. In addition to his work in role plays of Palladium Books ( Rifts, Robotech, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc. ), he developed the Amber Diceless still Roleplaying Game, a role-playing game without dice. He was also the director of the Detroit Gaming Center, founder of Ambercon, a convention around the RPG and Amber publisher of role-playing game magazine Amberzine ( discontinued in 2005 ).

In 1997 he began working for the Sierra Studios, where he was the lead developer for the computer role-playing game Return to Krondor. For the company Outrage Entertainment, he developed the game Alter Echo. From 2004 to 2006 he worked as a game developer for Ubi Soft Shanghai. Until his death in 2008, he was a Senior Game Designer for Totally Games in San Francisco.

On June 7, 2008 Erick Wujcik died of cancer.
