Erico Menczer

Erico Menczer (actually Eric Menczer, born May 8, 1926 in Rijeka, † March 10, 2012 in Rome ) was an Italian cinematographer.

Life

Menczer, who had his first name Italianize forced, came after the Second World War Padua and Genoa to Rome and thus the early 50s to the film. As assistant and a member of the camera crew, he worked primarily with the chief cinematographer Gianni di Venanzo. His first film, the documentary Piccolo cabotaggio pittorico, was awarded the Golden Lion in 1952. The films on which he worked in the 1950s, for example, the girlfriends and The Scream, directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, had larger artistic weight than those in which he served as director of photography in 1960.
