Erik Akkersdijk

Erik Akkersdijk ( born October 7, 1989 in Enschede) is a Dutch speedcubers. Since 2007, Akkersdijk numerous world records, including the classic Rubik's Cube ( 3x3x3 cube ).

Career

Akkersdijk began to find in August 2005 with the Speedcubing. Soon, he took part in national and international competitions. His first major tournament victory with the 3x3x3 cube he succeeded at the Czech Open 2007. At the Dutch Open 2007, he presented the first time at a world record with the 3x3x3 cube. Once this has been further improved by Ron van Bruchem, Edouard Chambon and Yu Nakajima, he presented in July 2008 at the Czech Open with 7.08 seconds a mythical world record, which should have more than two years before inventory Feliks Zemdegs him 13 November 2010 undercut with 7.03 seconds. His world record gave Erik Akkersdijk much attention even from the media. He was also a guest at Günther Jauch Stern TV program on German television. A video on YouTube in which Akkersdijk aufstellte the world record, saw far more than 2.5 million users.

Akkersdijk set world records with the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 cube on and with the Megaminx. He won so far, however, only one world title, namely 2007 with the Megaminx. European champion Erik Akkersdijk 2008 with the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 cube, with the Megaminx and in solving the Rubik's Cube with his feet.
