Erik Blomberg

Erik Blomberg ( born September 18, 1913 in Helsinki, † 12 October 1996 in Kuusjoki ) was a Finnish cinematographer, film producer, screenwriter and director.

Origin

Blomberg's parents were Wilhelm Blomberg, a mining engineer, and Martha Grönvik, a nurse.

Blomberg began his forty-year career with the Finnish film as a cinematographer and has been an independent producer of his own films. With the white reindeer, which he wrote, directed and cut him achieved his greatest success. The work was shown at the International Film Festival in Cannes in 1953 and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe 1957. In the late 1960s changed Blomberg to television.

Blomberg was married to actress Mirjami Kuosmanen.
