Erik Friberg (2011)

Erik Friberg ( born February 10, 1986 in Lindome ) is a Swedish footballer who currently stands at Malmö FF under contract.

Career

Association

Friberg started his career with Västra Frölunda IF before moving to BK Hacken in January 2007. He made his UEFA Champions League debut in the first qualifying round on 2 August 2007 in a 1-0 win against KR Reykjavík. In the two games of the first round against Spartak Moscow, he was a total of 20 minutes to use.

On 16 December 2010 it was announced that Friberg has signed a contract with the American first division club Seattle Sounders FC. He made his debut in the opening game of the 2011 season against Los Angeles Galaxy.

In 2012 he moved to Malmö FF and wrote there a contract until the end of season 2014.

National

Friberg was selected for the training camp of the Swedish national team in January 2012 after his team members from Malmo Mathias Ranégie and Ivo Pękalski been withdrawn from the squad. His debut for Sweden, he was in a friendly match against Bahrain on January 18, 2012, which was won 2-0.
