Erik Gundersen

Erik Gundersen ( born October 8, 1959 in Esbjerg ) is a former Danish train athletes. He was mainly active sports Speedway, where he took three individual World Champion title, but was also twice long course world champion. He also brought twelve other world title in Speedway: He was with the Danish team Team seven times world champion and five times world champion pair.

Gundersen began his career in 1979 at the Cradley Heath Heathens from Dudley. The Club, he remained loyal throughout his career, which is a rarity in Speedway, as most drivers change their club teams almost every year. After the end of his career he became coach of the Danish national team. Since 1996 he has been a member of the Hall of Fame of the Danish Sports.

End of career

1989 had to end his career after falling Gundersen. After he still finished fourth in the finals of the individual World Championship in Munich's Olympic Stadium on September 2, the final of the World Team Championship was held in Bradford on September 17. In the first corner in his first race of the event, he drove a as the leader. The lying directly behind him, Lance King and Jimmy Nilsen entangled in love.
