Erik Larsen (tennis)

Erik Øckenholt Larsen ( born August 23, 1880 in Copenhagen, † after 1914 in London) was a Danish tennis player.

Career

Larsen was 1905, the first Dane, who took part in the Wimbledon Championships. In 1907 he reached at the German championships, the All- Comers final, but was defeated Otto Froitzheim. In 1913 he scored in the tournament of Wimbledon by reaching the second round his best result. In the same year he also succeeded in the catchment to the final of the British Indoor Championships, in which he, however, Percival Davson May defeated in four sets.

Larsen came also at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912. Both in single and in mixed alongside Sofie Castenschiold he left however after its opening games.
