Erik Lindahl

Erik Robert Lindahl ( born November 21, 1891 in Stockholm, † January 6, 1960 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish economist and member of the " Stockholm School".

Life

Between 1942 and 1960 he was professor at the universities of Lund, Gothenburg and Uppsala.

Work

His major work, the 1939 published studies on monetary and capital theory. But its present notoriety he owes an earlier essay: 1919 Lindahl suggested a method for financing public goods before, which is very similar to a market solution. The data obtained through this procedure prices for individual consumers are Lindahl prices mentioned (see also benefit pricing).
