Erik Nevland
Erik Nevland ( born November 10, 1977 in Stavanger ) is a former Norwegian national football team.
Club career
Erik Nevland comes from the youth team of Viking Stavanger, the biggest football club of his hometown Stavanger. In the 1996 season was the only 19 -year-old only to use a single league. In the end, his team finished third and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup in 1997/98. There, however, it failed due to the Swiss of Neuchâtel Xamax in the second qualifying round. In the 1997 season, the young striker Nevland already managed 13 Season Apps, scoring 5 goals. This aroused the interest of other European clubs and as the Norwegians moved like many other Scandinavian football players to England. As a young talent in the traditional club Manchester United but he could not prevail, and came to only one use. In the meantime, he was awarded for the collection of match practice back to Viking Stavanger and to the Swedish giants IFK Gothenburg. 2000 Nevland finally decided to return to his home and became at Viking Stavanger to the absolute top players. In the 2001 season Nevland scored 14 goals again, almost a third of the entire team. Again Stavanger finished third and qualified for the UEFA Cup in 2002/ 03. There it was again, the Norwegian striker, who was involved with his two goals instrumental in Vikings victory over Chelsea, and thus sealed the departure of the glorious English club. At this time the Norwegian club gained more attention for the first time in European football business, even if you failed the Spanish representative Celta Vigo a lap later.
