Erik Poppe

Erik Poppe (* June 24, 1960 in Oslo) is a Norwegian film director, screenwriter, cameraman and former press photographer.

Life and career

Erik Poppe started his career as a photographer for the Norwegian daily Verdens Gang. In 1989, he completed a study cinematography of the Stockholm Film School. As a cameraman he began to work for commercials. His first feature film work as a cameraman was created in 1995 for Bent Hamer's film egghead. In 1998 he made ​​his debut as a film director. For his second feature film Hawaii, Oslo 2005, he was awarded the Norwegian Film Award Amanda. 2008, his third feature film Troubled Water Premiere, who also came to German cinemas in 2010.
