Erik Tysse

Erik Tysse ( born December 4, 1980 in Bergen) is a Norwegian athlete who both in the 20 km walk as well as in the 50- km Walk has achieved international championships top rankings.

Erik Tysse 2000 won his first Norwegian championship titles in the 5000 meters runway walking, he won a total of over twenty national champion, on the Olympic 20 - kilometer route, he won from 2001 to 2003 and 2005 to 2008. ( 31 December 2008 )

After a 17th place over 20 km at the European Championships in 2002 and 19th place at the 2003 World Championships Tysse not stepped up to the Olympic Games 2004. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he reached number 13 over 20 km, in the following year, he finished in seventh place at the European Championships in Gothenburg. 2007, at the World Championships in Osaka, Tysse launched for the first time on both distances. After an eighth place over 20 km, it finished fifth over 50 km. Also at the 2008 Olympics he finished fifth over 50 km, after he had only reached about 20 km to the 21st place. At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, he went about 20 km to seventh place.

At a height of 1.90 meters his competition weight is 69 kilograms. His sister Kjersti Plätzer is also a successful race walker.
