Erik van der Luijt

Erik van der Luijt ( born August 22, 1970 in The Hague) is a Dutch jazz composer, pianist, producer, arranger and bandleader.

Biography

Erik van der Luijt studied jazz piano with Rob van Kreeveld and Rob van Bavel at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he played in master classes with Michael Petrucciani and Barry Harris.

His concert tours have taken him to Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and Indonesia. In 1998 he married the Dutch jazz singer Ilse Huizinga, which he accompanied as an arranger, producer and pianist in television appearances, albums and concerts. Their album The Sweetest Sounds ( 2004) was nominated for an Edison.

In addition to the joint work with Huizinga, Erik van worked the Luijt with Rita Reys, Madeline Bell, Marjol Flore, Joke de Kruijf, Pia Beck, Gerrie van der Klei, Denise Jannah, Greetje purchase field, Heddy Lester, Ferdinand Povel, Piet Noordijk, Ruud Jacobs, Frits country's mountains, Bernard Berkhout 's Swing Mates and countless other famous Dutch artists, worked on countless musicals and albums as well as with international orchestras such as the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, the Metropole Orkest, the Dutch Swing College band, The Ramblers and Koninklijke Militaire Kapel the.
