Erik Veje Rasmussen ( born April 9, 1959 in Hørve ) is a Danish handball coach and former handball player.
Career
Erik Rasmussen Veje started playing handball at Vallekilde - Hørve and moved in 1979 to the Danish first division club Helsingør IF. After the back player with Helsingør in 1981 won the Danish Championship, he switched to German Bundesliga side TuS Nettelstedt. Even a season later, he returned to Helsingør IF. After Rasmussen in the 1983/84 season went hunting for goals for the Spanish club Malaga SC, he played then the German Bundesliga VfL Gummersbach. With Gummersbach he celebrated 1985 German Championship as well as winning the DHB Cup.
Rasmussen moved in 1986 to the Danish club VHG drag spar, in which he served as player-coach. In the season 1989/89, the Dane played at TUSEM food, with which he the championship and the European Cup Winners' Cup. Then he returned to the VHG drag spar. From 1990, Rasmussen was as a player in the Swiss first division club scouts Winterthur under contract. After winning the Swiss Championship in 1992, he moved to Roar Roskilde. Between 1994 and 1998 he served as player-coach for the Swiss first division club TSV St. Otmar St. Gallen active.
Erik Rasmussen Veje played from 1980 to 1993 a total of 233 caps for the Danish national team, in which he scored 1015 hits. With Denmark, he took in 1984 at the Olympics in part.
Rasmussen stood from 1998 to 2003 as coach of Bundesliga side SG Flensburg- Handewitt under contract, the Euro -City Cup, in 2001 won the European Cup Winners' Cup and in 2003 the DHB Cup under his leadership in 1999. In 2003, he coached the Danish club Aarhus GF. In 2004 he was at the age of 45 years making a comeback, as Aarhus had an injury renounce more players. 2009 Rasmussen finished his work as a trainer in Aarhus, but he later returned one years back to the dugout of Aarhus.
Private
Erik Rasmussen Veje is married and has four children. His son Nikolai Veje Rasmussen also plays professional handball.
