Erika Burkart

Erika Burkart, married Holder ( born February 8, 1922 in Aarau, † 14 April, 2010 Muri AG), was a Swiss writer.

Life

Erika Burkart was born in 1922 in Aarau and grew up in Althäusern at Aristau in the Aargau free Office - country- Kapf, the former summer residence of the abbots of Muri, transformed into a wine - and food - husbandry. Her father, Walter Burkart, former big-game hunter in South America ( and author of the book The heron hunter from the Gran Chaco ), in charge of the dining room, but was in the course of time itself more and more to his best guest. After training as a primary school teacher Erika Burkart taught for several years at various schools - an activity that she had to give up in 1953 due to a heart disease. She herself felt free, and soon appeared at regular intervals first books of poems, novels from 1970 and records. In 2005 she was given the Big Schiller Prize of the Swiss Schiller Foundation for her life's work as first author.

Many of her poems were set to music by famous composers, as, inter alia, by Gottfried von Einem, Rudolf Kelterborn, Gerd Kühr, Armin Schibler, Janos Tamas and courtship Trümpy.

Erika Burkart was married until her death with the writer Ernst holder. Apart from a few extended stays and trips, the couple lived in a cottage at Kapf Aristau. The author Erika Burkart died on Wednesday, 14 April 2010 at the age of 88 years in Muri (Canton Aargau, Switzerland ). My archives are located at the Swiss Literary Archives in Bern.
