Erika Forster-Vannini

Erika Forster- Vannini ( born February 27, 1944 in Zurich ) is a Swiss politician (FDP).

Life

Erika Forster grew up with two sisters in a commercial household in Zurich. After graduating from high school followed by several stays abroad. Erika Forster is with Ueli Forster, a textile entrepreneur, married and mother of four adult children. She is a citizen of St. Gallen and nine parishes.

Policy

At 33, she was elected as a member of the FDP in the Great Council of the City of St. Gallen, whose presidency they took over in 1982 as the first woman. In 1988, she moved into the Grand Council of the Canton of St. Gallen, which she presided in 1994/95. Erika Forster was 1995-2011 Member of the Council of States for the Canton of St. Gallen.

After her confirmation in the 2007 parliamentary elections as St. Gallen Councillor, she was elected Vice-President of the Council of States. On November 23, 2009, she chose the little chamber of parliament, with 43 of 44 valid votes for Senate President to Parliament 2009 /2010.
