Life and work

ERikm already played in the 1980s in various French Noise bands and devoted himself to the street art After working as a lighting and sound technician at the theater he had at the age of 22 years, a first exhibition of light collages, which he, in another exhibition with music highlighted. Due to the numerous and very different influences that shaped his career, the music eRikms always moves between the poles of popular culture and avant-garde art, composition and improvisation. A special role is played by the synthesis of nature and technology. Firstly, by testing the possibilities of technical artifacts such as the record player in interaction with the color of the human voice (see his work with the Belgian singer Catherine Jauniaux ), on the other hand, in the form of recordings of natural sounds and technical noise and their recombination. This programmatic let him also come to the forefront of science and fostered a collaboration with the French philosopher and former director of IRCAM ( Institute of Acoustics and Music Research ), Bernard Stiegler, to days.

Since the early 2000s, he has devoted himself increasingly to the visual arts ( drawing, photography and sculpture ) in order to combine this with his musical creativity, and thus to fulfill the vision of a holistic art. In addition to its permanent site at work Friche de la Belle de Mai in Marseille these works have been exhibited exhibited at the Kunsthalle St. Gallen, Clover Hall of Doshisha University Kyoto and the manifestation International d'Art in Québec ( Canada).
