Erikub Atoll

Erikub or Ãdkup is an uninhabited atoll in the Ratak Chain of the Marshall Islands. The atoll has a land area of 1.53 km ², which encloses a lagoon of 230 km ². The atoll is located just 8.6 km from the neighboring atoll Wotje away. The nearest islands of the atolls are 11 km away from each other. The highest point of the atoll is 9 m above sea level. On the island grow coconut trees.

The largest of the 16 islands is Bokanaik ( Bwokwanaik ) with an area of ​​42 hectares, followed by Erikub ( Ãdkup ) with 29 acres, both in the south of the atoll. Erikub is largely planted with coconut trees, while the other islands are mostly uncultivated. The atoll is visited by the inhabitants Wotjes to Kopraernte.
